It is likely they are rated for 30 amp circuits. Also, check for an outlet in a utility room which also may have a 30 amp circuit. The circuit breakers in the house should be marked with the rating for each circuit. My house has 20 amp circuits in the living room, family room, hallways and bedrooms, 30 amp circuits in the kitchen, utility room where the washer is, and in the garage. I have 50 amp circuits for my water heater, electric dryer and electric stove.

You could plug an extension cord into any one of my 30 amp circuits with no problem. Check out your friend’s house and see what they have available Recently, my next door neighbor was remodeling his house and needed to pull the plug for his electricity while the work was being done. My neighbor wanted to plug an extension cord into my garage, which I let him do, but I also put in a vintage watt-hour meter in the line so I could measure how much electricity he used so he could pay me for it You should be a nice guy and offer to pay for the electricity you use That is where I got mine.

It sits in the middle of a 3 foot heavy gage extension cord in a watertight enclosure.

Brake control Battery power The first four pins are the same as the standard flat-four connections, and are connected to the tail light wiring harness run during Phase 3 above. The last two pins are used for the braking system. A standard Unified Tow Brake installation uses a separate two pin umbilical. I didn’t want to have to hook up two umbilicals each time, so I combined all of the wires into my own custom six pin umbilical.

This works out well for me since the motorhome hitch includes a seven pin blade socket, and the coach came factory pre-wired for the Unified Tow Brake, sending the brake signal out the brake control pin of this connector. I came up with this scheme six years ago when I installed everything on my last truck. It appears that the installation instructions for the toad-only kit for pre-wired motorhomes have since been updated to include this wiring scheme, as there is now a section to this effect near the end of the installation instructions.

I don’t recall this being there six years ago but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there at the time.

Batteries should be checked after at least 3 hrs. Batteries Isolators and Charging Relays Battey isolators are devices used to allow the RV battery to be charged by the vehicle alternator while the engine is running. When the ignition is turned off, the RV battery and the starting battery are effectively disconnected or “isolated” from each other.

If we intended only stopping at campsites with mains electric hook-up and all we had was a few lights, a water pump, a water heater, and a gas 3-way fridge, then one good 80amp/hour leisure battery connected to a simple mains charger would probably do.

See our fleet Book now! I just put my trailer on consignment with this company and recently there has been a huge interest in renting it…. I can attribute this to them having a GREAT reputation on how kind they are on how they treat people.. I know they are somewhat discreet on what they take in for rent which on the long run is a big benefit to the person that rents their motor homes or trailers. Marty We rent a motorhome for a week, each year. Even though communication is done over the phone, or on the internet — service was outstanding.

It was nice to see the unit we rented before actually receiving the vehicle. Martin took care of everything from beginning to end he even followed up on a slight invoice issue -well after the fact. I would recommend 1st Choice RV over the competition and I have used them all anytime and everytime!

Contact Author Source Many RVs and camper trailers use a power converter to operate the lights, refrigerator, vent fans, and perhaps the thermostat on the heating system. The converter uses the volt AC power from the local power source and transforms it into the volt DC these items require. This article is intended to help you troubleshoot many converter problems and to repair or replace the unit if need be.

Since there are different makes, types, and sizes of converters, this article will deal with problems common to most models. Although electrical knowledge is helpful, it is not necessary in order to be able to check the power converter or to repair or replace it. For more basic information on how the electrical system on your RV works, see this article. Always unplug the RV from the volt power supply before attempting to repair any electrical components of the power converter unit.
